For funders & partners
Lumisa turns grant dollars into operating businesses, and tracks the outcomes that prove it.
The program is completely free for founders. This page is for the people and organizations who fund it.
The case
Minnesota is full of founders with the drive to start a business but no access to capital or networks.
The ecosystem offers them advising and lending; nobody builds with them, and that is where most first-time founders stall.
Lumisa runs 6-week cohorts where a professional builder works beside 8 to 10 founders until each one has a registered, priced, online, operating business.
We track what matters: first paying customer, first $1,000 in revenue, and 6-month survival.
A full cohort costs $52,000, roughly $5,000 to $6,500 per operating business.
What funding buys
The budget is mostly skilled build labor: a professional beside every founder through the cohort, then 90 days of follow-up. The full line-item budget is available on request.
What we track
Every cohort reports on six outcomes, in public, as they happen:
Partners
Your clients leave good meetings with a to-do list nobody helps them finish: the website, the pricing, the licensing, the client system. Lumisa is the hand-off for that work. Send us the founder, we build it with them, and your program's outcomes improve. Referral costs your organization nothing.
Early funding applications live and die on ecosystem letters. If Lumisa's work complements yours, a short letter of support helps fund cohorts, and we're glad to write one in return where it's true.
We name partner organizations only once a real agreement or written permission exists, and we acknowledge funders exactly as their grant terms prefer, including anonymity.
The one-pager
One page: the program, the pilot budget, and the ask. We reply the same week.
